Who writes our articles
Articles are published under the byline HOA Strata News Editorial Team. We use a shared byline rather than invent personal profiles. When a named contributor or outside expert writes or reviews a piece, we will say so on that article.
Sourcing
We prefer primary sources: the text of statutes and regulations, guidance from governments and regulators, lender and insurer documents, and companies’ own pricing and product pages. We use secondary sources, such as trade publications and industry surveys, when they add context, and we name them. Sources are linked in the sentence they support so you can check them yourself.
Fact-checking
Before publication, every number, price, date, legal reference and definition is checked against a source opened at the time of the check. If a source doesn’t support a claim, we remove the claim or state clearly what is and isn’t confirmed. Prices and rules change, so articles show the date they were last updated, and we recheck key figures when we update them.

Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Substantive corrections are noted at the end of the article with the date of the change. Small fixes, such as typos or broken links, are made without a note. To report an error, use our contact page and include the article link and, if you can, a source.
